• What Could Have Been: According to Dan Jurgens, the Mxy-as-Clark storyline had been planned as far back as his and Lee Weeks' Superman: Lois and Clark. However, the Mxy storyline's climax wasn't originally planned as a crossover event between Action Comics and Superman. That only came about during pre-production, as Jurgens, Peter Tomasi, and Patrick Gleason realized the ramifications of the story on Superman's world and characters justified expanding the narrative's scale and scope.
