He had hoped to voice Keniclius 5 in this episode, but the budget wouldn't even extend to that.note Or at least, Gene Roddenberry told him it wouldn't. Koenig later had his doubts over this claim, given that other former TOS actors such as Mark Lenard, Roger C. Carmel and Stanley Adams also had guest roles on this show, and he wouldn't have asked for any more money than they did.
