- Port Overdosed: For a fangame, that is. Thanks to the open source nature of the game, it ended up ported to whatever the game's tech-savvy fans could port it. In addition to three computer versions (Windows, Mac, Linux) and two Android versions (mobile and Nidia Shield/Android TVnote ), the game got unofficial Xbox, PS4, PS Vita and Switch ports. While PC, Android, and 4 consoles are more "expected" than "impressive" for a commercial game, this is not too shabby for a fangame.
- Prop Recycling: The future version of Tidal Tubes is from the cancelled fan game Sonic Zero: Remastered, more or less. Several graphics and objects are the same, but the level design and background are greatly different from what it originally was.
- What Could Have Been: Once the game has been opensourced, it became apparent from its source code that it was, at some point, supposed to feature some kind of two-player mode, apparently with split screen.
