Trivia / River City Ransom: Underground

Go To

  • Approval of God:
    • The game was overseen by the series creator Yoshihisa Kishimoto, advising the devs on elements of the game.
    • After Arc System Works had acquired the rights to the Technos Japan portfolio, it seemed it'd complicate the copyright issue... Until Arc System Works' logo started to appear on trailers, meaning they reached an agreement with each other.
  • B-Team Sequel: It can be considered this, considering this game was released among the release of Arc System Works' own games, not to mention being programmed by non-Japanese developers.
  • Contest Winner Cameo: Six of the Kickstarter Backers were placed in the game as late game mercenaries. In Arena Mode, they're even called "Backers".
  • Screwed by the Lawyers: There was a not-so-simple conflict between Conatus Creative and one of their main composers, Alex Mauer, who had different opinions about license agreement of her works in the game. After a series of legal incidents, including two DMCA takedowns on Steam filed by said composer, the devs decided to re-commission the soundtrack to avoid any further issues.
  • What Could Have Been: The leader of the Vixens, Alexis, was originally named "Rene" and was going to be a playable character in the campaign since launch. Eventually Downplayed, since she was eventually implemented as a playable character in the story in the 15th update.
