  • Demand Overload:
    • A curious side effect of the COVID-19 Pandemic in late 2019/early 2020 was that Ring Fit Adventure saw a sudden surge in popularity in China due to people wanting a way to exercise while being confined to their homes. Unfortunately, with imports of the game only available through online retailers in the country, stock dwindled fast, and nasty scalpers quickly capitalized on the situation, with some charging over double the retail value online. Nintendo and local partner Tencent, possibly aware of this fact, held a special "Ring Fit Direct" exclusively for China ahead of the game's official release in the country in August.
    • As the pandemic affected production of the peripherals for the game, combining that with a rising demand for the game for the same reasons as in China, the game was sold out throughout the rest of the world come March 2020. Shipments of the game began to increase throughout Summer 2020, but it still sells out instantly online and, as of August 2020, scalpers are still trying to sell it for around $100 in the US.
    • In the UK; as of July 2020 the game is still out of stock on Amazon and on Nintendo's own e-store at RRP, with major high street stores like Game, Smyths Toys and Argos all sold out too, with new stock only coming in sparingly - and what stock does come in gets snapped up fast. Have fun paying £110 to a scalper if you're not quick!
  • Denial of Digital Distribution: This is among the few Nintendo Switch games that cannot be downloaded on the eShop. This is because it comes with physical peripherals.
