Trivia / Renowned Explorers

• Colbert Bump: Abbey Games was struggling to keep their company afloat after the release of Renowned Explorers, committing to releasing updates to the game every two weeks in the hope that their passion for the project would bring success. Along came Total Biscuit and his WTF Is... video series. The normally cynical and dismissive TB was thoroughly excited by and appreciative of the game, recommending it to listeners of the Co-Optional Podcast and his YouTube audience. His fans purchased the game in droves, driving Abbey Games back to profitability and saving them from bankruptcy. Abbey has said publicly that without TB's coverage they would either be in financial debt or completely shuttered.
  John: This game to me is an overlooked gem. Maybe it's just down to the name and the theme? ... It's a wonderful Around the World in Eighty Days like theme. And I like that a lot.... this idea that the whole world is open for discovery and everyone has a wistful attitude. And there's so much variety and combat depth! Why was this game overlooked?
• What Could Have Been: The Early Footage Trailer contains a visually different map of Europe for the intermission sequences, a completely different system of researches, and an encounter for a party of four player characters.
