- Creator Backlash: While they liked the episode overall, one thing that Rob Grant and Doug Naylor really regretted doing was depicting Captain Hollister chewing out Rimmer on-camera for screwing up the drive plate repair. Later in the show's run they realised just how absurd it was that an obvious incompetent like Rimmer had been trusted with the job, but this episodenote made it impossible to retcon his role out completely due to the continuity issues it would have caused.
- Deleted Scene:
- The Cat enters the sleeping quarters on rollerskates with a loudspeaker announcing that he "feels sexy" to any female felis sapiens in the area. Since Rimmer has moved out to live with his hologram clone, Lister asks the Cat to move in with him. However the Cat says that he isn't interested, because a cat shouldn't cohabit with monkeys (what he calls humans), and also that he would prefer to bunk down wherever he feels like.
- Lister muses over the singnage the two Rimmers have put up outside their bunk.
- Extended scene of the two Rimmers winding each other up in the Cinema. The deletion of this footage notably creates a Continuity Snarl, as the original and duplicate Rimmer seem to swap places right before Lister decides which one he's going to delete.
- Write What You Know: Rimmer's Gazpacho soup story was based up on a real incident experienced by Rob Grant and Doug Naylor while at Thames Television. Unlike Rimmer, however, they suddenly remembered some soups are served chilled and did not send it back.
