- Continuity Lockout: Defied, since Slott acknowledged that it had been nearly 20 years since his She-Hulk run and the Reckoning War setup there. So, Reckoning War was intentionally and carefully structured by Slott to work both for veteran readers and new readers of his Fantastic Four run.
- Development Hell: Reckoning War was first teased by Slott way, way back in his She-Hulk run from the mid-2000s (and further teased in various subsequent Slott-helmed runs). For a variety of reasons, it ultimately took 15 years before Marvel finally let him pull the trigger.
- That said, Slott's admitted he's glad the story's ultimately playing out in the Fantastic Four's book (between their cosmic connections and history with the Watcher).
- What Could Have Been: Slott's revealed the story nearly happened back during his Mighty Avengers run after Secret Invasion.
