- Deleted Scene: The original ending had Rasputin's hand held up to his forehead in benediction as he lay dead on the ice. It was considered potentially blasphemous, however, and was cut from the final movie. The shot can still be seen in some stills, however.
- Rasputin has a confrontation with irate villagers in a small hut. This is the same hut Charles and Diana Kent took refuge.
- Rasputin is thrown out of a castle window to his death on the frozen moat. This is the same place Dracula went through the ice.
- Fake Russian: Just about everybody.
- Orphaned Reference: Christopher Lee and Francis Matthews spent several days filming an extended fight sequence for the ending. Eventually, much to Matthews' disappointment, most of the scene ended up on the cutting-room floor, leaving his bloody lip in the penultimate shot unexplained.
- Recycled Set: The movie was filmed back-to-back with Dracula: Prince of Darkness, using many of the same cast members and sets.
- Uncredited Role: Brian Wilde as Vassily's father.
