Trivia / Rage in Eden

  • Better Export for You: While British and European reissues quickly had to replace the cover art due to rights issues (as it was based on a preexisting film poster), American releases were able to retain the artwork.
  • Creator's Favorite Episode: In a 2021 interview, Midge Ure stated that Rage in Eden was one of his favorite Ultravox albums, stating that "there's a starkness about it, an austre, mystical distance, a coldness to it but a coldness that kind of works."
  • Writing by the Seat of Your Pants: According to a 2022 interview with Midge Ure, the songs for Rage in Eden were formed through gradual improvisation, making everything up as they went along. This was in stark contrast to Vienna, where the band rehearsed all of their material via live performances before putting them to tape in the studio; this difference in methodology is also why Rage in Eden took so much longer to record than its predecessor.
