• Troubled Production: It began life as a multiplayer mode for The Getaway: Black Monday, but got heavily expanded after Phil Harrison, vice president of Sony Europe, saw it and felt that it could be far more. Unfortunately, thanks to several factors — culture clash between Sony's Western and Japanese executives over the very idea of the game, attempts to make it a graphical showcase for the new PlayStation 3 that led to numerous technical problems, a terrible first impression at E3 2007, Harrison's departure from Sony leaving the project adrift without its creative guiding force, and skepticism from third-party developers — Home faced a rocky development that culminated in an Obvious Beta launch in December 2008.
