* NoPortForYou: The Steam and other console ports of ''Royal'', despite being advertised to feature all DownloadableContent as in the UsefulNotes/PlayStation4 version, are missing the ''Raidou'' costumes and music, as discovered by dataminers of the UsefulNotes/NintendoSwitch version that happened to be shipped early. Also a case of OlderThanYouThink, since said contents are already not listed in the official DLC list for the ports but it took until October 2022 for the mainstream to actually realize this. Presumably, this is done for sensitivity reasons towards [[BannedInChina China and Korea]], considering the Imperial Japan imagery in said games, but considering how according to fans China does not mind it and the fact that ''VideoGame/SoulHackers2'' earlier also has ''Raidou'' costumes, the real reason is unknown. Of course, it only took a few hours for [[GameMod a mod to add the content back in for PC]].

* CastingGag:
** A retroactive one, given how ''Royal'' is an UpdatedRerelease. When the Phantom Thieves first meet Jose in ''Royal'', the boy initially mistakes Morgana for a tanuki before correcting it to "cat". Morgana angrily responds that he's not a tanuki, and then adds that [[RunningGag he isn't a cat]], either. Creator/IkueOtani has some experience with a very similar gag in [[Manga/OnePiece another series]].
** The fact that Creator/ShuichiIkeda, best known as AcePilot [[Franchise/{{Gundam}} Char Aznable]], was casted as the definitely CorruptPolitician Masayoshi Shido; it could be an inherent gag to cast another 70's voice actor to voice his {{Foil}} for politicians, the more genuinely decent (but not after a fall from grace) Toranosuke Yoshida, the voice actor being Creator/KeiichiNoda, who's best known as AcePilot [[Anime/GreatMazinger Tetsuya Tsurugi]]. Both of them (Char and Tetsuya) has either worked together or clashed against each other when [[VideoGame/SuperRobotWars their series cross over (a lot of times).]] Their roles also reflect the genre of the shows that raised their names: Creator/ShuichiIkeda's roles reflect the darker, negative side of mankind more often found in the RealRobotGenre, while Creator/KeiichiNoda's roles reflect the lighter, positive side of mankind often found in the SuperRobotGenre.
** Creator/BrycePapenbrook voices human Morgana in the English dub of Royal, marking his second time voicing [[WesternAnimation/MiraculousLadybug a black-costumed hero with a cat-like appearance who is romantically interested in his red-costumed teammate.]]
** Tae Takemi's original voice actress Kirsten Potter [[VideoGame/TraumaCenter had previously voiced]] another [[HospitalHottie sexy doctor]] with a DarkAndTroubledPast who had death-themed motifs. Helps that both games were developed by Atlus.

* DarkhorseCasting: While the English dub features established voice actors like Creator/CassandraLeeMorris, Creator/MatthewMercer, Creator/CheramiLeigh and (in ''Royal'') Creator/LauraPost, the rest of the main cast was relatively new and/or unknown at the time.

** On the 25th of March 2020 Australian games retailer EB Games released ''Royal'' about six days ahead of the intended release date. While it is not currently known why this happened, common believe is that with the Australian Governments attempts to crack down on the COVID-19 pandemic forcing non-essential buisnesses and stores to close the next day, it's possible that they were trying to get the copies they had out before serious actions had to be taken.

* IKnewIt:
** There was speculation that Ann would be Caucasian, as "Takamaki" is both a Japanese and Finnish surname and thanks to the complicated Kanji in her name, no one really knew if her name was [[SpellMyNameWithAnS "Anne" or "Anzu"]]. Add to this her [[PhenotypeStereotype blue eyes and blonde hair]], which, in a series where blue, red, purple and silver are both natural hair and eye colors, have been reserved for foreigners, such as [[VideoGame/Persona2 Lisa]] (American) and [[VideoGame/Persona3 Bebe]] (French). A profile released shortly after the third trailer revealed one of her grandparent was American, making her [[ButNotTooWhite ¼ Caucasian]]. While it's not clear if she has any Finnish ancestry (although the game reveals she did live in Finland for a time), she ''is'' partly Caucasian as speculated.
** After the fourth trailer revealed her character, many guessed that Futaba was a {{Hikikomori}}, based on her computer expertise and her name being a ShoutOut to [[{{Imageboards}} 2Channel]]. This was confirmed by Famitsu a week later.
** Many fans guessed that the boy seen on a plane in the fourth PV with the Protagonist and Ryuji would be a Confidant. This was confirmed in the July stream as Yuki Mishima, the Moon Arcana.
** Virtually every fan correctly picked The High Priestess as Makoto's Arcana. Ditto for Akechi being Justice.
** Many, many fans correctly called Sae being Makoto's older sister. Granted everyone knew they were related thanks to sharing a last name and the only other possible relation was Sae being her mother.
** Practically ''everyone'' predicted that [[spoiler:Akechi sold the protagonist out during the Niijima's Palace heist]].
** Several predicted that [[spoiler:the molester the protagonist stops in the prologue]] would be the BigBad.
** As soon as the theme for this game's Personas were revealed to be famous literary characters who reflected the thief motif of the Main Characters, everyone immediately predicted one character would have Myth/RobinHood as a Persona. It took a while to be confirmed, but it was eventually revealed to be Akechi's Persona. [[spoiler:Funny enough, the guy who owns the most recognizable Persona (or rather, his namesake) is the SixthRangerTraitor.]]
** A common theory regarding ''Royal'' was that [[spoiler:the events of the third term would involve a LotusEaterMachine scenario]]. And as it turned out, people were right.
** Many people predicted that Goro Akechi would have an expanded role in ''Persona 5 Royal'' due to his popularity [[spoiler:and his apparent HeroicSacrifice in the vanilla game being regarded as poorly written, with many having expecting him to receive a [[RedemptionQuest redemption arc]] instead.]] This theory would be partially confirmed by the [=E3=] trailer for the game [[spoiler:which shows a scene of Haru in the Mona bus with the knee of Akechi's Black Mask form partially visible behind her]] and was later fully confirmed during an August livestream for the game.
** People had long predicted that the game would be coming for the UsefulNotes/NintendoSwitch before the official announcement was made.
