** Episode #111 of ''Plus'' where George Peppard ranted about NBC's standards and practices, which he thought were like a "police mentality", never aired during the show's original run (didn't help that one of the puzzles to describe a harmonica used "Suck" and "Blow" as clues). It wouldn't see the light of day until Creator/{{GSN}} aired it in the mid-90s. Goodson-Todman banned Peppard from appearing on any of their shows for that incident, which cost them a lot since they had to film an extra episode two weeks later to make up for the pulled episode. However it's especially regrettable as the pulled episode contain a win in the Alphabetics round right at the start of the show.

This event has been recounted by a few who supposedly saw it live, including Creator/JamieFarr of all people (who claimed in his autobiography to have seen it happen while he was a celebrity guest), but there otherwise exists no proof that this ever happened.

** Episode #008 of ''Plus'' from January 17, 1979 was shown by Buzzr a couple of times in February 2017, but then all of a sudden abruptly pulled from the rotation. Buzzr had just instituted a practice to either censor or skip over any episode of any show that contained content that may possibly offend people; said skipped episodes aren't even included in the Amazon Prime uploads. Since episode #008 had "Ku Klux Klan" as one of the puzzles, and a November 1979 episode with the same solution was skipped over entirely, it was easy to see why the episode was pulled.

Names The Same is no longer a trope.

* NamesTheSame: The executive producer of the CBS version was Fred Tatasciore, not to be confused with the voice actor.
** A strange case involving the infamous Kerry Ketcham's alias. Twenty-four years after his appearance on ''Super Password'', a contestant by the name of Patrick Quinn won the Teachers' Tournament on ''Series/{{Jeopardy}}''.
** Password Plus had a contestant by the name of Jay Stewart, who was definitely not the long-time announcer/sidekick on Series/LetsMakeADeal. Ironically, the first celebrity he was teamed with was none other than Monty Hall!

** Episode #008 of ''Plus'' from January 17, 1979 was shown by Buzzr a couple of times in February 2017, but then all of a sudden abruptly pulled from the rotation for no reason. The solution to one of the puzzles was "Ku Klux Klan", leading some people to speculate that Buzzr got offended, and felt the show was glorifying that group.

The solution rotation. Buzzr had just instituted a practice to one either censor or skip over any episode of any show that contained content that may possibly offend people; said skipped episodes aren't even included in the puzzles was Amazon Prime uploads. Since episode #008 had "Ku Klux Klan", leading some people to speculate that Buzzr got offended, Klan" as one of the puzzles, and felt a November 1979 episode with the show same solution was glorifying that group.skipped over entirely, it was easy to see why the episode was pulled.

* FanNickname:
** "Mr. Password" for Allen Ludden, as this was inarguably his best-known series.
** The ABC version was sometimes known during the mid-1990s to early 2000s as "Password II", mainly to distinguish it from its 1960s predecessor.

* KeepCirculatingTheTapes: Most of ''CBS'' (daytime) was destroyed, with the last season put into syndication. ''ABC'' is even worse off, with only '''four''' episodes circulating and not many others held by archivists (plus the 1972 episode of ''Theatre/TheOddCouple'', which occasionally shows up on [=MeTV=]).
