Trivia / Paris Police 1900

Go To

  • Reality Subtext: After Mimile is murdered by having his chimney deliberately blocked, suffocating him with the fumes of his stove, Jouin and Cochefert discover that a number of other people who upset the Sabran family may have been killed the same way. In real life, Émile Zola, who strongly supported the innocence of Dreyfus, died from a blocked chimney in a similar way, and it has been theorised by many in France ever since that he was murdered by the right wing because of his involvement in the Affair.
  • Typecasting: Evelyne Brochu, as Marguerite Steinheil, is recognised by many English-language viewers for her earlier role as Delphine Cormier in Orphan Black, another morally-ambiguous but sympathetic woman accidentally caught up in deadly intrigue.
