• Author's Saving Throw: Following the whole "bike cuck" fiasco, Shen managed to make the most out of the negative response, first by remaking the comic only to call himself out for his stupidity while promoting net neutrality in the process, and another comic years later where he was reunited with his bike for Christmas. In general, the backlash also caused him to heavily tone down the self-discouraging tone in favor of more experimental, overall more upbeat humor.
• Bury Your Art:
  • Shen deleted the "Crimes Johnson" comic out of personal dissatisfaction towards the results.
  • The "sweater" comic. Shen deleted it because his message came with Glurge (seemingly about giving things in bad condition to the less-advantaged).
• Creator Backlash: The "stolen bike" comic. Ignoring the backdraft and widespread mockery he received for it, he would later redact on this attitude in another comic advocating net neutrality, essentially recreating the setup of the first comic before interrupting himself with "NO, YOU DUMB FUCK!!!"
• Rule 34 – Creator Reactions: Believe it or not, there is Rule 34 of Owlturd Comix, with a female version of Shen's avatar. When asked about his opinion on those porn parodies, Shen just replied with a drawing of this female Shen saying "This is a Christian webcomic!". Ironically, this drawing got R34'd itself.
