  • Contractual Obligation Project: DW Griffith had to produce this and an adaptation of Of Mice and Men as part of a contract with Hal Roach.
  • Creative Differences: DW Griffith was a producer, but had his name removed from the credits because he disagreed with Hal Roach on characterization.
  • Friendship on the Set: Carole Landis and Jean Porter shared a dressing room during filming and became close friends.
  • Never Work with Children or Animals: While working with loads of lizards, they had to turn heaters on to their highest setting, as reptiles don't move in cold weather.
