- Acting for Two: MANY of the characters are voiced by the same people. Koos Korswagen and the Narrator are two blatant ones.
- Memetic Mutation: For a time, Ome Henk became somewhat popular among fanimutation fans internationally after the song Opblaaskrokodilnote was used in Andrew Kepple's French Erotic Film fanimutation.
- Technology Marches On: Some of the jokes are dependent on, as of now, obsolete technology.
- Tjabbe Tjibsma, the local inventor, acts as if Windows 95 and megabytes are high tech and is even called to check wether a computer is able to resist the Millennium Bug.
- In one story, Henk wants to rent a VHS in a video rental shop. The former is obviously obsolete technology, while the latter is largely supplanted by Video-On-Demand and streaming services.
- You Sound Familiar: While whole series is voiced by just one or a very small cast of actors, several one-off characters sound very similar to later introduced recurring characters. Examples include
- Two of these happen in the song "Sinterklaas is here to stay", which is a medley of parodies of famous songs associated with the holiday. During one of these songs, a character sounding a lot like Harrie, the antisocial assistant-Sinterklaas, including his poor grasp on Dutch, can be heard singing. Near the end of the song, Santa Claus appears and gets into a fight with Sinterklaas. Santa sounds identical to the later appearing Ted Tettettettet. This is probably intentional, as Ted is portrayed to dress like Santa Claus.
- A random talking elephant in the story "De Schotelantenne"(The Satellite Dish) sounds very similar to the Wizard of Salsa Borenco.
- A fireworks seller in the story "December" speaks with the same voice as Tjabbe Tjibsma, including the southern Dutch accent.
