  • Actor-Inspired Element: It was Bob Odenkirk's idea that Hutch smacks his head against a rail during the start of the bus brawl to deflate Hutch's bravado and reinforce that he's not a typical action movie protagonist.
    • In fact, the whole film was inspired by Odenkirk suffering two home invasions and feeling humiliated at not being able to defend himself or his family.
  • California Doubling: The presumably American-set film was shot in Winnipeg, Canada.
  • Descended Creator: Fight coordinator Daniel Bernhardt plays the goon who loses his teeth during the bus brawl. Meanwhile, the first Mook killed at the seniors' home by Hutch's father David is the film's director, Ilya Naishuller.
  • Dueling Works: With Wrath of Man, both R-rated action thrillers featuring Anti-Hero protagonists working with false identities and being capable of some Combat Pragmatist and One-Man Army antics, as they use their Hidden Depths to avenge wrongs. In the end, Nobody received better reviews but Wrath of Man did better at the box office.
  • Dyeing for Your Art: Bob Odenkirk trained for two full years ahead of shooting so he could do as many of the stunts as possible himself. Extra beneficial as he credits this for surviving his heart attack.
  • Fake Mixed Race: Araya Mengesha plays Pavel, who's half-Ethiopian, half-Russian. Though Mengesha is half Ethiopian, he's also half-Eritrean, so only of black African ancestry.
  • Fake Russian: Araya Mengesha is really Canadian, with Ethiopian and Eritrean heritage. Here his character Pavel was half Russian, half Ethiopian.
  • No Stunt Double: Bob Odenkirk did almost all of his own stunts, and fight scenes used long cuts to show that it was him doing the moves and not a stunt double.
  • Playing Against Type: Bob Odenkirk, best known as a drama actor and comedian, takes the lead as a grizzled badass in an action movie. Similarly, Christopher Lloyd plays his father, a badass former FBI agent.
  • Production Posse: David Leitch, Derek Kolstad, and Daniel Bernhardt all worked on the John Wick films.
  • Release Date Change: The COVID-19 Pandemic pushed the theatrical release back from August 2020 to February 2021, then again to April 2. It then moved forward one week to March 26 to avoid opening in the wake of Godzilla vs. Kong.
  • Separated-at-Birth Casting: Christopher Lloyd and Bob Odenkirk playing father and son seems fairly natural not just with appearance but with their voices.
  • Spiritual Antithesis: to A History of Violence - a father with a Mysterious Past leaves it to start a family, but is brought back into the criminal underworld upon leaving a trail of bodies. However, while this film is a dark Action Comedy, A History is a serious look at the psychological toll of violence.
  • What Could Have Been: The Barber was going to take an active role in keeping Hutch's past under wraps.
  • Write What You Know: Much of the film was inspired by Bob Odenkirk's own struggles with aging and encroaching feelings of irrelevance as his children grew older. He also built upon the rage and helplessness he felt after a couple of real home invasions his family endured.
