• Real Life Writes the Plot: Jean and company's Birthday song to Nadia in the English Dub is a minor example. While they do sing "Happy Birthday to You" in the original Japanese release, the Dub instead uses an original birthday song. This is almost certainly due to the expense of licensing "Happy Birthday" (which was copyrighted at the time) for the American release. Ironically, the song finally entered the public domain a decade after the American release of Nadia (but far past the point of going back in and re-dubbing that sequence).
