Trivia / Mot i Brøstet

  • Creator Backlash: Sven Nordin, who played Nils, came to really hate working on the series. He thought it was trash, that nobody was making an effort, and he was even quoted as saying he was starting to feel physically ill from playing Nils. When he stuck with the series for as long as he did, it was because the series had become a franchise, a lot of people's jobs depended on that franchise, and he didn't like the thought of being the reason so many people lost their jobs. His attitude towards the series did not extend to his fellow actors though; he's been full of praise for them and ever since the end of the series he's worked with Nils Vogt, who played Karl, a number of times, in both theatre plays and TV shows. In 2014, the two even starred in a Deconstructive Parody of the series called Ellen & Børre & Dem, with Bjørn Sundquist (who played Roy Butler in Karl III) as a Drop-In Character.
  • Creator Breakdown: It didn't actually affect Mot i brøstet too much, but the high work pressure famously gave creator and writer Tore Ryen severe health problems. While Mot i brøstet was on its biggest success high, he tried introducing a spin-off series, Radio 2, which was to run parallel with Mot i brøstet and feature the occasional crossover. The increased work load nearly gave him a heart attack, and he had to step back from Radio 2, which only lasted 12 episodes as a result.
