  • You Look Familiar: Various actors have appeared in two or even all three series, playing different characters each time (with two exceptions note ).
    • Beyond the Creator Cameo appearances by Colin Dexter, three actors to date have appeared in all three shows:
      • Richard Durden played Alan Richards in "The Dead of Jericho" (Inspector Morse), John Gracey in "The Soul of Genius" (Lewis) and Professor Alexander Richmond in "Quartet" (Endeavour).
      • Andrew Paul was a criminal suspect accused of an arson attack on a bookshop in "Deceived by Flight" (Inspector Morse), Ron Tibbitt in "Intelligent Design" (Lewis), and Joe Dozier in "Quartet" (Endeavour).
      • Glen Davies portrayed a policeman in "Twilight of the Gods" (Inspector Morse), a workman in "Intelligent Design" (Lewis) and Burt Talbot in "Lazaretto" (Endeavour).
      • In addition, opera singer Janis Kelly's voice has been heard in two episodes of Inspector Morse (including as the singing voice of Nicole Burgess in "Death of the Self"), four episodes of Lewis and the Endeavour pilot.
    • The most obvious example of an actor who's been in two out of the three shows is Roger Allam, who played the academic Dennis Cornford in "Death is Now My Neighbour" (Inspector Morse) and has been a regular in Endeavour as DI Fred Thursday, mentor to the young Morse.
    • The Endeavour episode "Rocket" has guest appearances by Martin Jarvis (who appeared in Inspector Morse) and Jenny Seagrove (who appeared in Lewis).
    • Lucy Boynton, one of the students in "Nocturne" (Endeavour), portrayed a child prodigy in "The Gift of Promise" (Lewis).
    • Patrick Malahide appeared in "Driven to Distraction" (Inspector Morse) and the Endeavour pilot.
    • Danny Webb, who portrayed Tom Pollock in the Lewis pilot, played the corrupt DS Arthur Lott in the Endeavour pilot, and in the finale episode "Exeunt".
    • James Wilby has been in "Expiation" (Lewis) and "Neverland" (Endeavour).
