• What Could Have Been: Early in the game's development, the creator made a poll with early artwork of potential characters to gauge interest. The Pokémon on the poll that didn't make it in the final product were Banette, Tyranitar, Quilava, Infernape, Victini, Timburr, and Drowzee.
  • Banette actually scored high and was a character the creator was particularly interested in including, but ultimately decided not to because of potential personality overlap with Sandslash, and he wanted to ensure the cast was diverse.
