• Development Gag: The flashback used some footage from the unaired pilot of the teens first morphing into the Power Rangers and a close-up of two confused Putties.
• What Could Have Been: Originally, this episode was supposed to follow its Zyuranger equivalent more faithfully. Kimberly was supposed to have been put into a deep sleep like Mei was. In fact a bit of this was filmed and can be seen in the final episode where Zack is squatting down in front of some kind of bed, which would later be used for "Return of an Old Friend." Kimberly's foot can also be seen in one shot in the Command Center, showing she was lying down.
