- What Could Have Been:
- According to Imagineer Kevin Rafferty's 2019 book Magic Journey: My Fantastical Walt Disney Imagineering Career, in early stages of development the attraction's main character was to be Tinker Bell. Michael Eisner suggested having Donald be the star instead. This was done as Donald would provide more comedic conflict.
- At Disney California Adventure, PhilharMagic was originally intended to replace the Muppets in 2010, before Disney realized the screen was too small to present it in the intended aspect ratio. They eventually got around it by projecting the outer bands on the theater walls.
