- Canon Discontinuity: After Mic releases an updated version of an early Deep Discog Dive episode (i.e. the Taylor Swift or Daft Punk episodes), Mic will unlist the original version, stating that each new version "replaces [the originals] in every way". Despite this, he leaves a link in the description to the original video so that his audience can still access them.
- Missing Episode: A video on Al Walser's nomination at the 2012 Grammys was removed soon after it was uploaded, for unknown reasons.
- Newbie Boom: His popularity took a boost after the release of "The Music That Defined The 2010s", which got a sizeable amount of music nerds into his content. This continued with the Glee episode, which is his most watched video as of August 2023.
