• Bad Export for You: The international version of MapleStory 2 is very outdated compared to the Korean version, such as missing the Striker class, Awakening promotion, miscellaneous cosmetics, and overall power creep.
• Celebrity Voice Actor: Like its predecessor, the game seems to be using veteran anime voice actors.
• Screwed by the Network: The death of the game outside of Korea is often pinned on a severe lack of meaningful content once you finished the main story, as a lot of the endgame devolves into the same level of grinding as the original MapleStory (albeit for different reasons), and the game being behind on updates and taking a long time to address glaring flaws drove away a lot of players after the first few months. A massive update to address the latter was pushed out several months down the line, but by that time the damage had already been done and there was not enough steam left in the engine to keep the game alive.
• What Could Have Been: Early in development, several classes had different attacks that were later scrapped before the official release. For example the Heavy Gunner had a flamethrower and backwards jump shot attack, while the Wizard had a lightning whip attack. Weirdly, these attacks are still displayed in footage when creating a new character.
