  • Channel Hop: Just before the series was cancelled by NBC, the first two seasons were added to Netflix, followed a few weeks later by the third. It promptly became a sensation on the service. While Netflix initially denied any interest in taking over the series, it was eventually revealed they were indeed in negotiations to do so, with NBC also exploring the possibility of reviving the show. Ultimately, Netflix won out with a 20-episode final season renewal.
  • Meaningful Release Date: Season 4 has three of these, two of which occurred in 2022 and one in 2023.
    • The teaser trailer for Part 1 was released online on August 28, which is 8/28 (i.e. Flight 828) in the American date format.
    • All Part 1 episodes were made available for Netflix streaming on November 4, which was the day Flight 828 mysteriously returned in 2018.
    • The release date for season 4 part 2 is June 2 — the death date (albeit a year early).
  • Separated-at-Birth Casting: Luna Blaise (Olive) and Jack Messina (Cal) really do look a lot like Athena Karkanis as their on-screen mom Grace. To a lesser extent they also resemble Josh Dallas as well, who plays their dad Ben. You can believe that these kids could be their real children more than most castings. The resemblance between Blaise and Jenna Kurmemaj, who plays the young Olive in the pilot and in flashbacks and the finale, is equally striking.
    • The casting for Eagan's father, Nazir Tehrani (Ramsey Faragallah).
  • Un-Canceled: The series was ended by NBC after its third season finale in 2021 despite a cliffhanger ending. A fan campaign began, backed by the show's first three seasons released on Netflix, where it quickly became one of the most-watched programs on the service. This led to Netflix ordering a fourth and final season in August.
  • Vindicated by Reruns: The show was such a smash on Netflix, right as news of its NBC cancellation was hitting, that it led to the series being quickly acquired by the streamer for a fourth season.
  • What Could Have Been: The show creator had planned for the story to span 6 seasons instead of the 4 it ultimately got.
