• Inspiration for the Work: According with Word of God, the main inspirations for the basic framework of the fanfic are Neon Genesis Evangelion, Metal Gear and Live A Live, with some elements from Saint Seiya and a Mexican soap opera the author watched as a kid named El camino secreto (The Secret Path).
• What Could Have Been: The fanfic went under many changes before and during its development:
  • The title as originally intended as Albedo: The Therianthrope Chronicles, since only Albedo: Erma Felna EDF and Ace Combat were planned to appear exclusively, with the characters from Albedo: Birthright were planned to appear during the last legs of the story and during Erma's own lifetime, rather than setting the plot centuries in the future. However, since the story was turning too boring and too chatty for the author's taste, Katmandu was included instead, since its setting was more or less compatible with the Albedo's canon.
  • Likewise, the author was also considering to include either Star Fox or The Depths, rather than Katmandu, but he changed his mind, as the both franchises are incompatible with Albedo's canon as well.
  • Also, Neon Genesis Evangelion was also considered to be included over Ace Combat instead.
  • Originally, Yoshinori Komatsu was originally intended to be named after the character he is based of, Charles Ambrose Komatsu, with just a modified version of his background from his side-story in Refractions. But, due to the fact many aspects of Refractions's Komatsu, including having a believable reason for being half-westerner, since his made-of backstory from the fanfic was planned to be used as well, the author changed him to an ethnic Japanese named Yoshinori Komatsu instead.
  • Initially, Yuusuke Hoshino, Kaguya's father and the CEO of the Hoshino Group, was conceived as a villainous and abusive character toward her. However, the author decided to pivot away from this portrayal upon realizing the resemblance to Kaguya Shinomiya's father. As a result, Yuusuke's personality was reimagined in the opposite direction. The original traits intended for Yuusuke will be repurposed for a completely new, unannounced character instead.
