• California Doubling/Fake American: Set in New York state, but filmed in and around Ottawa, with a Canadian cast. One subtle giveaway is in the scene in the principal's office. He has a conveniently-placed US flag on his desk, but on the whiteboard behind him is a schedule showing events at "15 PM" and "16 PM", rather than "3 PM" or "4 PM"; the 24-hour clock is commonly used in Quebec and parts of Ontario.
• Dawson Casting:
  • Jon McLaren was 33 (!) when he played teenaged Paul.
  • Sarah Grey, 22 at the time, as a high school senior.
• Separated-at-Birth Casting: Since they have similar hair colors, facial features and complexions, Christina Cox (Rhonda) and Hannah Vandenbygaart (Hailey) are quite plausible as mother and daughter. In fact, they also played mother-and-daughter duo Heather and Kelly in Lifetime's Deadly Double Cross, where Kelly is actually described by another character as "a younger version" of Heather. Also both movies have The Reveal that the mother is secretly having an affair with her daughter's boyfriend.
