• Banned in China: Not really banned, but the local Semarang government has loathed the film for its inaccurate depiction of Lawang Sewu. Additionally, the local government is trying to remove the stigma caused by this film that Lawang Sewu is haunted, since most visitors that go to this Dutch colonial house comes in the form of ghost hunters looking for some cheap thrill.
