Trivia / Kita Kita

Go To

  • The film was supposed to feature in the 2016 Metro Manila Film Festival, but was pulled out from the film fest.
  • Accidental Pun: When the film was screened at the Osaka Film Festival, director Sigrid Andrea Bernardo was informed by fans that "kita" in Japan means north, making the title of the film a reference to Hokkaido, the most northernmost prefecture in Japan. However this is unintentional with Bernardo noting the amusing coincidence. Kita Kita (which roughly translates from Tagalog to "I saw you" itself is already a word play which reference several motifs in the movie including Lea's eyesight.
  • Fake Mixed Race: Inverted. Alessandra de Rossi is (pretty obviously, going by the name) half-Italian, but the film establishes her character as fully Filipino.
