  • As the series' director Gao Xixi previously directed the 2010 Three Kingdoms TV series, many actors who were in this series also appeared back in TK:
    • Peter Ho (Xiang Yu) was Lü Bu. Also counts as Typecasting as Ho's portrayal of the two men are remarkably similar: peerless warriors who were handicapped by their love interests, and were not too smart to boot.
    • Yu Hewei (Qin Shihuang) was Liu Bei.
    • Yu Bin (Hu Hai aka Qin Ershi) was Cao Pi.
    • Kang Kai (Fan Kuai) was Zhang Fei. Also counts as Typecasting as Kang's portrayals of the two men are remarkably similar. note
    • Li Jianxin (Chancellor Li Si) was Xun Yu.
    • Xu Maomao (Xiang Bo) was Xu You.
    • Ye Peng (Zhongli Mo) was Jiang Wei.
    • Yan Pei (Song Yi) was Yuan Shu.
    • Huo Qing (Zhang Liang) was Lu Su.
    • Xu Wenguang (Zhao Gao) was Yuan Shao.
    • Fan Yulin (Long Ju) was Sun Jian.
    • Ji Chenggong (Kuai Che) was Liu Biao
  • Qin Lan (Empress Lyu) also played the same role in the movie Wang De Sheng Yan.
  • Chen Daoming (Liu Bang) was Ying Zheng in Hero (2002).
  • Ji Chenmu (King Huai of Chu) was Cao Mao in the 1994 version of "Romance of the Three Kingdoms". Coincidentally, both rulers were puppets who were later killed by their puppetmasters (although Cao Mao's assassination in public cost Sima Zhao dearly).
