• Genius Bonus: The city manager brings up Salem, Massachusetts as an example of a town that used something historical that happened there to capitalize on tourist dollars, and improve their city. The thing is, the infamous Salem Witch Trials never truly happened in Salem, they happened in Salem Village, or present day Danvers. Present day Salem was originally a thriving shipping community, and when that market ran dry, they used the anniversary of the witch trials to revitalize a town that was falling into ruin. This acts as possible Foreshadowing for his eventual goals, seeing as how he and the other males of the town capitalize on the town's history, while ignoring all of the nuance that went into it.
