  • Colbert Bump: An unintentional one: as the phone number dialed in Here & There Along the Echo is a real working phone number, it got picked up by some commentary YouTubers who decided to film themselves calling "the creepy number they found", unaware that it was from this game. Shane Dawson ended up being the highest profile personality to cover their reactions to the dialing prompts.
  • Defictionalization:
    • Little Berlin, a gallery, artist collective, and exhibition space in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, re-created some of the art pieces seen in Limits & Demonstrations. Their exhibition, "Limits and Demonstrations: A Lula Chamberlain Retrospective", was on display October 4th, 10th and 17, 2013. The staff of Cardboard Computer joined the exhibition on the 17th via Google Hangouts for a special reception and talk.
    • The phone number dialed in Here and There Along the Echo, (270) 301-5797note , is a working Kentucky-area number with all of the same in-game phone tree prompts. It's unknown if the real phone number records your input like the in-game Interlude (and Act IV) suggests. Cardboard Computer also auctioned off three actual phones that were modified to only dial out to the phone number featured in Here and There.
    • The synthpop band Junebug released a full album, titled Too Late to Love You, in October of 2020. The album was produced by KRZ's composer Ben Babbitt and features an appearance by in-game pedal steel guitarist Cyrano Cole (also performed by Babbitt) on "Interlude". The title track appeared in 2014's Act III, while the songs "Deeply in Mind" and "Sky Remains" appeared as muffled background audio in 2016's Act IV. A music video for "Static Between Stations", presented as a broadcast by WEVP-TV, was also issued to coincide with the release of Act IV.
    • Cardboard Computer released a live-action version of the fourth Interlude Un Pueblo de Nada, including each of the VHS tapes that the broadcast cuts away to. The video gives additional context to the game as a whole.
  • Development Hell / Schedule Slip: Act III was released in May 2014 and, though the developers released small side stories related to the game in the meantime, as well as an "Act IV is almost done" message in November 2015. Act IV ended up being delayed until July 2016. Act V was released on January 28, 2020; however unlike the other Acts and Interludes which received standalone releases, Act V was released as part of the complete game on both PC and console ports.
