Trivia / Joshua and the Promised Land

Go To

  • Colbert Bump: It's safe to say that what recognition this movie has is based almost entirely on Saberspark's review of it.
  • Copiously Credited Creator: Jim Lion took four years to produce this film completely by himself, and prefaces the film by stating "it was worth every minute".
  • Creator Backlash: While Jim Lion has since realized his film was bad, he doesn't regret making it since he made it to learn how to animate.
  • Deleted Scene: A sequence based on the episode with Rahab and the two spies was made, but not included in the finished film, presumably because it's... pretty suggestive in regards to Rahab's job.
  • Descended Creator: On top of being the sole writer, animator, and editor, Jim Lion also serves as the movie's narrator.
  • No Budget: Joshua was funded out of pocket by Jim, who also served as the sole crew member for the movie.
  • Orphaned Reference: After Jericho's destruction, one of the buildings is shown to be still standing. This is supposed to be God fulfilling His end of the bargain with Rahab by sparing her home from destruction, but since her scenes were cut from the movie, there's no explanation as to why this one building wasn't destroyed.
  • Real-Life Relative: Joshua's voice actor, Jonathan Dauermann, is the son of Naomi and Chaim Dauermann; who also star in the movie.
