• Breakaway Pop Hit: While this movie was given mixed reviews by critics and mostly forgotten after it came out, one of the songs on the soundtrack - Quietdrive’s cover of Cyndi Lauper’s "Time After Time" - is still played on radio stations today, and to date is the band’s only charting song.
• Dawson Casting: All of the main cast, though to differing degrees. Brittany Snow who played the lead character Kate was 20 when the film was released and probably 19 when it was filmed and Arielle Kebbel (Carrie) was only a little older. At the other extreme Jesse Metcalfe, who played John Tucker, was 28 at the time.
