• What Could Have Been:
  • The author stated that the series was originally intended to be a romantic comedy, but the story developed in a different direction. The manga adaptation does appear to take the romantic comedy route more than the original light novel.
  • The author originally planned on Chesuit and Elfa to be relatively minor characters, but the author become inspired to expand their characters more than intended.
• Word of God:
  • The author stated in the afterwords of Volume 3 that Chesuit was properly introduced in order to give a token adult character that was good. While Marin is technically an adult, the author considered her to be mentally a child due to her circumstances.
  • The author stated that there was never a chance at a reconciliation between Violette and Auld.
