• Actor-Inspired Element: Jennifer Lopez suggested Fiona Apple's "Criminal" as the song Ramona dances to.
• Actor-Shared Background: Diamond is played by Cardi B, who started off as a stripper before hitting it big as a rapper. She also admitted to drugging and robbing men during that time just like the characters do in this film.
• Awesome, Dear Boy: Julia Stiles was quoted as saying "I don't care if I have to make sandwiches or sweep the floors, I'll do anything to be part of this movie."
• Banned in China: Malaysian reports have mentioned that the movie is not allowed to be shown in Malaysian theaters.
• The Cast Showoff: Lizzo's character briefly plays the flute.
• Cast the Expert: A few of the exotic dancers from the location they filmed in were cast.
• Darkhorse Casting: Aside from Jennifer Lopez, Julia Stiles, Cardi B and Lizzo, most of the lead actresses were only known for television roles (Keke Palmer for True Jackson, Lili Reinhart for Riverdale etc.) and Constance Wu had only just achieved more notability from Crazy Rich Asians.
• Doing It for the Art: Lorene Scafaria did not take another directing job in the hopes of being able to get this to the screen. Constance Wu likewise paid for dance training out of her own pocket.
• Irony as She Is Cast: Jacq the Stripper plays a character who just got breast implants. A stripper herself, she performs with her own un-enhanced.
• Method Acting: Constance Wu masqueraded as an actual stripper in a club to prepare her for the role.
• No Stunt Double: Jennifer Lopez did Ramona's extended pole routine herself, without any use of a double. She trained for two and a half months to prepare for the scene.
• Stunt Casting: The filmmakers went "how can you make a movie about strippers and not have Cardi B in it?"
• What Could Have Been:
  • Martin Scorsese reportedly passed on the project.
  • Julia Stiles claims that there were dream sequences of a sort planned where Elizabeth imagined herself alongside the girls as they did their thing, but were cut from the script.
