• Word of God: The author clarified a few things early on in the SB thread:
  • The reason he had Neville chosen by the Reaper Soul Crystal is that he needed someone to break Harry out of his shell, and felt that Neville deserved the chance due to how much of a Butt-Monkey he is early on in canon. As an addendum, Neville's counterpart as a Reaper is a small but brave imp, who will not show up in this story.
  • The events of the story up until Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire have been planned out to avoid the author's previous issues with burnout and writer's block.
  • Harry's jobs are Gunbreaker, Machinist, Black Mage, Monk, Dragoon, Red Mage, and Sage, with him having all of the job crystals but not necessarily bonded with or mastered the others. His non-combat professions are still being decided by the author, with the only confirmed details being that he is a culinarian and blacksmith and is not an alchemist.
  • The Hippogriff foal Harry sees in Chapter 3 is Buckbeak.
