Trivia / Hana Kimura

Go To

  • The Band Minus the Face: Her own faction, Tokyo Cyber Squad, continued without her, honoring and remembering her everytime they got a new fight. But eventually this didn't last much, since they separated in October 2020, almost all going to Stars and Konami (and later Fukigen DEATH) going to Oedo Tai.
  • The Character Died with Him: A variant; Hana's stable Tokyo Cyber Squad disbanded a few months after her suicide.
  • Dye Hard: In her last years, she dyed her hair into pink, which also converted her into a Rose-Haired Sweetie.
  • Executive Meddling: After her death, news broke that Terrace House producers had demanded her to be more bitchy and whiny, which many cite as the main reason for the cyberbullying that drove her to suicide. Her mother Kyoko even outright said in an interview that "Fuji TV killed my daughter."
  • In Memoriam:
    • Her mother Kyoko Kimura made a campaign against cyberbullying, especially against the ones who made her daughter committed suicide. Finally in 2021 she launched the non-profit Remember Hana, an anti-bullying organization.
    • Various wrestlers from other promotions outside Japan made signs of respect toward Hana the next months, including Kenny Omega wearing a Hana's t-shirt during an AEW Dynamite show who was selling to Pro Wrestling Tees for charity, Sasha Banks wearing an armband with the leters "HANA" on it, and Dakota Kai dyeing her hair pink as a tribute to her.
    • Kimura's fellow Terrace House cast member Peppe drew her in the third volume of his manga series Mingo, which was released on July 10.
    • In May 23note , 2021, the Hana Kimura Memorial Show was held by her mother Kyoko Kimura as an In Memoriam event with various stars from STARDOM and NJPW, as well video tributes from various famous WWE and AEW stars that passed for STARDOM or met her in Japan.
    • Both Hana and Kyoko were fans of What the Fuck Is Wrong with You?, and on the next show after Hana died, Nash made a short speech about her death, honouring her memory.
  • Short-Lived, Big Impact: In Japan, Hana only wrestled for 4 years, making herself a name in her country. Worldwide, she was known (as well all STARDOM) thanks to "No People Gate" event transmitted for free on YouTube in March 7, 2020, becoming a sensation outside Japan. When she died in May, her name was well-known not just in wrestling world.
  • What Could Have Been: With only 22 years old and a whole future waiting for her, which included being possibly contracted further by WWE or AEW, her death was a great loss for everyone.
