- Outdated by Canon: Several misconceptions and misguided assumptions that were very prevalent in the fandom back when the story was being written are present in this story:
- Misato killing Kaji (she did not).
- Asuka not knowing why she kissed Shinji (she was aware she was trying to seduce him) and rinsing her mouth to save her pride (she was masking her pain).
- Adam, Lilith and the Angels being the ones of Judaeo-Christian lore (they have nothing to do with the biblical figures whatsoever).
