- Alison appeared on Nevermind The Buzzcocks to promote Black Cherry. Alison hates the show and its host at the time, Mark Lamarr, but the label forced her to appear in it, and she hated every second of it, hence her constant expression of 'Oh God get me out of here'.
- Alison has admitted that Head First was this, as the band were reaching the end of their album deal with Mute and they decided to go out with a deliberately 'cheesy' sounding album, as well as a way of funding Tales of Us, which was their pet project at the time. However, their deal was renewed shortly afterwards and they have stuck with the label since.
