Trivia / Ghosts I-IV

Go To

  • Creator's Oddball: In addition to being an all-instrumental album, this was the only NIN album prior to Atticus Ross becoming an official member not to be written entirely or mostly by Trent Reznor, as Ross is credited alongside Reznor for all tracks, in addition to some tracks having writing credits from touring keyboardist Alessandro Cortini, then-King Crimson member Adrian Belew, and Dresden Dolls drummer Brian Vigilone.
  • Limited Special Collector's Ultimate Edition: The album was released in five different packages: a digital download of the full album in FLAC with digital extras; a 2CD format; a 4 LP format; a Deluxe Edition featuring the CDs, a 24/48 blu-ray and a DVD-ROM with multitrack stems for the full album; and an Ultra-Deluxe Limited Edition, which paired the Deluxe Edition with the vinyl copy, a coffee table book of the artwork and two exclusive Giclée prints. A free torrent of the first 9 songs (Ghosts I) also existed.
  • Multi-Disc Work: It was released as a double CD (with Ghosts I-II on disc 1 and III-IV on disc 2) and a quadruple LP with each volume having its own record.
  • Rarely Performed Song: Only a handful of tracks were played live on the 2008 Lights in the Sky tour. They were dropped afterward, presumably because of the complex setup needed to play those songs and the need for instruments that don't normally get played on other songs (including a marimba that would take up a large portion of a smaller stage).
