Trivia / Ghost Force

  • Acting for Two: Cedric L. Williams voices Drake and Glowboo.
  • Development Hell: A live-action movie adaptation was proposed with the show, though has since to gain any development since it was last heard in 2013.
  • Schedule Slip: Originally it was to be released in 2016, then it was pushed back to 2017, and 2018, and 2019... and then again to 2020. And again to 2021. The pushback to 2021 instead of the originally announced Fall 2020 release date may be due to setbacks by the COVID-19 Pandemic.
  • Short Run in Peru: Disney Channel Israel began airing Season 1 in July 2021, a month before TFoU began airing it in France.
  • Troubled Production: This show suffered from years of continuous delays and rewrites.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • The show's idea of a trio of color-coded superhero kids seems to have originated from Sweet Power, a proposed Zagtoon cartoon that presumably never got off the ground due to lack of any news on it since 2012.
    • The show was going to be a CGI/live-action hybrid.
    • Season 1 was going to have 78 eleven-minute episodes, instead of 52.
    • The series proposal overview.
    • Liv was originally named Maddie. Hmmm... Another alternative name was Natalie.
    • Mike's name was originally going to be Sam. Huh?
    • Originally, it was Professor Richenbach who selected the teens to form Ghost Force and gave them their tech. He was replaced with Miss Jones.
    • Andy's and Mike's personality and color scheme were switched during production. Andy was supposed to have a blue costume and be a science nerd, while Mike had green and was a jock.
    • Test footage showed Andy with a completely different animation model, mainly in that he had blue hair.
    • Concept Art shows that an early iteration of the Ghost Force had them in typical superhero suits and masks, similar to concept art for early Miraculous Ladybug. Other concept art closer to their final appearance depicts their suits as looking more like spandex than armor.
  • Word of God: Miraculous Ladybug creator Thomas Astruc has stated he has no plans to have the show crossover with Ghost Force. However, they do take place in a Shared Universe, and Zagtoon CEO Jeremy Zag would like a crossover.
