• Refitted for Sequel:
  • Seshita has said the original concept for the Godzilla Anime Trilogy was Godzilla fighting multiple kaiju. While not a sequel, Seshita reused that idea here.
  • In his original movie, Guiron was meant to fire off spikes like a railgun, but the special effects of the time wouldn't allow it, resulting in the shurikens. As this series is fully animated, he's allowed to actually use it as originally intended, though still shaped like the shurikens.
• What Could Have Been:
  • Jiger's original design was more robust and muscular, but it was later slimmed down.
  • Originally, Zigra was designed to be more robust and muscular to be able to stand upright on the ground, but he was later re-designed to have an unstable posture instead.
  • Guiron was originally going to have a long tail, but the tail was shortened to the stubby tail present on the final design to make the monster look like a living sword.
