• Screwed by the Lawyers: The game was originally released as Grim Guardians: Demon Purge. However, after it had received a complaint from the owners of the GRIMGUARD trademark, Inti Creates was forced to change the title from "Grim Guardians" to "Gal Guardians" in English-speaking countries.^note This did not affect the original Japanese release, which kept the original "Grim Guardians" title One unfortunate side-effect of the name change was that the game would be temporarily delisted from some digital storefronts (particularly from the Xbox store and the Nintendo eShop) until the name transition was completed.
