Trivia / Feist

Go To

  • Creator Backlash: She didn't re-release Monarch or perform material from the album live anymore, which is a shame, because Monarch is actually a good album; it's just totally different from what she's doing now.
  • One-Hit Wonder: "1234" in the US, and this was only because of downloads after being featured in a commercial. Because it lacked airplay, Feist quickly disappeared from the spotlight.
    • Two-Hit Wonder: While "1234" is her only top 40 hit in most countries, Feist had a slightly earlier success in her native Canada with "My Moon My Man" which peaked at 13.
  • Revival by Commercialization: "1234"'s popularity took off when a commercial showed the music video for the song being played on an apparent "stack" of iPods.
  • Role-Ending Misdemeanor: She announced she would drop out as the opening act of Arcade Fire's European tour in 2022 as a result of sexual misconduct allegations against Arcade Fire frontman Win Butler, and she donated proceeds from two shows she already played during the tour to a women's aid organization in Dublin.
  • Working Title: an early version of "1234" was performed as part of a live broadcast, where the setlist identified it as "Sally's Song", after its co-writer, Sally Seltmann.
