• Banned Episode: In response to the George Floyd protests, UKTV pulled this episode from syndication, due to the Major’s racist tirade. However, when John Cleese himself criticised this move (citing that the Major's casual racism is being mocked rather than endorsed), they reinstated it, with a Content Warning at the start.
• Blooper: During the laughter at the start of Basil's mime performance with the second group of Germans (when he is trying to inform them where the dining room is), a stage manager can be heard ordering some members of the audience to "Kindly pipe down!"
• Creator's Favorite Episode: Connie Booth named this as her favourite episode.
• On-Set Injury: When Manuel attempts to put out a fire in the kitchen, firemen were on standby to put out the flames. However in the next shot where Manuel walks out to alert Basil of the fire, two chemicals were added to Andrew Sachs' arm, to create smoke. During rehearsal and filming these chemicals soaked into his clothing causing him second degree chemical burns on his arm and back.
