Trivia / Eric Church

Go To

  • Breakthrough Hit: After his first two albums failed to produce anything higher than #10 despite good sales, "Drink in My Hand" became his first #1 in early 2012. This also doubled as a breakthrough for Jay Joyce; mainly a rock producer, he had almost no other country production credits at the time, but once Church finally heated up, Joyce began producing for the likes of Little Big Town, Gary Allan, and Thomas Rhett.
  • Creator Backlash: Church has said that he dislikes "Love Your Love the Most" and "Hell on the Heart" because they were attempts to please his label by giving them something radio-friendly.
  • Invisible Advertising: He released Mr. Misunderstood to his fan club in late 2015 with no advance warning that he was putting out a new album.
