• Acting for Two: Khan takes on several roles, causing him to sing the parts of both Ariel and Mephisto in "III Ways to Epica".
• Creator-Driven Successor: The song "Descent of the Archangel" can be seen as this to the song "Angel (Come Walk With Me)" by Khan's previous band Conception. The lyrics are very similar in places.
• Promoted Fanboy: Simone Simons, the lead singer of the band Epica who named themselves after the first album, does guest vocals on The Black Halo's "The Haunting (Somewhere in Time)".
